Since childhood, I knew where I belonged. Growing up on land and on the water. My father's ship "MS RENA" shaped me and my life. Countless journeys up and down the river, past the ever-recurring places and spots. And yet, every time felt like the first time. The rushing of the water, nature, freedom, and the unstructured daily life determined my path.

Countless journeys up and down the river, past the ever-recurring places and spots. And yet, every time felt like the first time. The rushing of the water, nature, freedom, and the unstructured daily life determined my path.

2006 – 2011
After finishing school, I completed a 3-year apprenticeship with my father. Two years later came the captain's license. When my father and mentor completed his 60 working years, he sold the ship and entered well-deserved retirement. One chapter of my life ended and a new one began.

I got the chance to acquire my own ship, which exceeded my wishes but at the same time put me at high risk and great challenge. I decided to take this path, despite the odds. Because I knew I could make it, just like my father did. The ship was to be named "MS RENA". To preserve the family tradition and show the world where I come from. Full of pride and ambition, my journey had begun...

Since 2021: We launched the streaming project "Inland Shipping" under the name "el_capitano1988". We made it our mission to bring the life and everyday routine around the inland vessel RENA to the outside world. Step by step, we continue to upgrade the ship and implement new ideas to give you more and more insights and moments. See for yourself how we try to master life on board with all its ups and downs. Because no day is the same and puts us to the test every time.
